Sony shows question

When we're watching the ending bylines of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, the King World distributor went bye-bye and replaced it with and when either Jack Clark, Charlie O' Donnell, or Johnny Gilbert say these following words: "and distributed by" and then the Columbia/Tristar TV byline gets into the picture instead, did we see this happen much frequently or is this from GSN that's doing it?

 Those are re-edits from after Columbia-Tristar took over production of the show several years back. Columbia/Sony bought Cola-Cola productions in the early '90s, after Merv Griffin sold his company to Coca-Cola in the late 80s, IIRC.

Actually, in THAT case, Merv's logo was replaced by the Columbia-Tristar logo and moved to the end of the show, following the logo for King World (which still is distributor of Wheel and Jeopardy today).

I haven't seen any of Merv's shows on GSN, but I suppose the 1980s shows on GSN had the Col-Tri credit (replacing KW's logo) following Merv's logo, since Sony owns the shows and KW had nothing to do with the GSN showings.

Also, it was Coke that bought Columbia in the 1980s, which was followed by their purchase of Merv's company.

 GSN's current showing of the 1988-89 WOF season showed(before the credits were squashed completely as of last month) Charlie O'Donnell saying that WOF is a production of MGE(with the logo), distributed by KW, and then the C-T TV logo at the end.
